The Berguedà mining towns: a way of life in a worker settlement

The mining towns of Fígols (Alt Berguedà), most of which are now abandoned or have been converted into museums, are among the most prominent in Catalonia, representing an important exhibit of worker housing linked to the mining industry. The domestic forms of these housing blocks will be studied from an archaeological perspective in order to analyse the changes and adaptations of the Cercs mining district, including Fígols de les Mines, Fígols and Peguera, and how the industry changed previous ways of life.
